Training & Workshops

Compact formats from production practice: AI integration, deep learning on geospatial data, climate risk analysis.

All formats are delivered by Dr Gerrit Tombrink. We teach what we build and operate ourselves.

Executive Briefing: An AI and GeoAI Strategy

4 hours · for your leadership team (2–8 people) · online or on site

What can AI deliver for your organisation today, and which parts are worth pursuing? In four hours, we work out the basis for a sound decision together: realistic effort estimates and clear make-or-buy criteria. Management, IT and business units leave the session with one shared picture.

The briefing clarifies:

  • Production readiness today: Which AI applications are mature, from LLM-based assistants and RAG on your own documents to deep learning on imagery and geospatial data, and which are not (yet)
  • Prioritising use cases: How to identify initiatives in your organisation and evaluate them by effort and value
  • EU AI Act: What it means in practice for your planned applications
  • Prerequisites and data sovereignty: Which data, systems and skills you need to get started, and where on-premise or EU hosting is the right answer

The briefing is priced as a flat company rate: it covers your entire leadership group, regardless of headcount.

If you want to make it concrete afterwards: our AI Architecture Assessment is the defined next step, from validated requirements to an implementation-ready target architecture.

Compact Workshop: AI Integration in the Enterprise

4 hours · open enrolment, priced per participant · for technical teams and IT-adjacent departments · online

How do large language models make it into your business processes reliably, in compliance with data protection law, and economically? This compact workshop equips technical teams to plan AI integration projects realistically and avoid the typical dead ends.

Contents:

  • Tool or custom build: When an off-the-shelf tool is enough and when you need your own solution
  • RAG on your own documents: Architecture, limits, quality assurance, including on-premise options for sensitive data
  • Agent workflows: What works reliably today and what remains experimental
  • Regulation from day one: Building EU AI Act and GDPR requirements into the architecture
  • Why LLM projects fail: The most common reasons and how to avoid them

Prerequisites: a basic technical background (IT, development, data or comparable). Programming skills are helpful but not required.

Practicalities: Max. 15 participants. The session takes place once 6 registrations are received. You are invoiced only after we have confirmed the date. All participants receive the materials. A confirmation of attendance is issued on request. This offer is directed exclusively at companies, public authorities and self-employed professionals.

Selecting climate scenarios correctly, using open data sources with methodological rigour, understanding the limits of off-the-shelf hazard datasets, documenting results robustly.

Hands-on: Deep Learning on Remote Sensing and Geospatial Data

4 hours

From image tile to segmentation model with PyTorch, based on the methods from our multi-year production project (CNN-based segmentation from aerial imagery).

We adapt both formats to your systems and questions. We quote prices after a short preliminary call.
